Experienced paddlers should take a chance on this very photogenic waterway! Above the water, sun-bleached branches from fallen trees reach out to share stories of their journey. Below the water, Eelgrass beds form one of the many estuarine habitats in Siletz Bay, sustaining all manner of life from the grassroots up.

This is an excellent location to observe a wide variety of Shorebirds which stop here along their migration to feast on invertebrate prey. We respectfully keep our distance, allowing them to rest up before continuing on their long migration to destinations sometimes thousands of miles away. If you're more into mamals you might see a very busy beaver, resident carnivores such as bobcats, coyotes or mink, weasels, muskrat and River Otters.

Timing with the tides is absolutely essential, so closely follow the instructions of your guide. Learn More Here: https://www.fws.gov/refuge/Siletz_Bay/
